This one was supposed to be a fairy styled costume HEAVILY inspired by Nene Thomas (although her dresses are much classier). I fell short of time and never made the wings. This costume was a LOT of fun for me because I'm always classified as "cute" and it was...refreshing to do something with a little sex appeal for a change.

Princess Pin Up Costume: Wow...what a pain in the backside costume....The design is completely my own, referencing the fantasy works of Nene Thomas and the Venus Ballgown by Christian Dior. The corset was completely made by me. I've never made one before and I made every mistake possible. What I did was buy a cheap corset, take it apart and use it as a template to make the one I've got on. Next time, I'm buying a pattern. The material is satin, is boned, lined and has interfacing inside to give it support. The designs are painted on with Swarovski crystals and glass flower beads hand sewn on. For the skirt, I used Simplicity pattern 4046 for the underskirt area. I took a chiffon typed material from Jo Anns, cut it out in petals, serged the ends, hand sewed on more Swarovski crystals, glass flowers and mother of pearl styled beads.
