How can you NOT know about Poison Ivy?  Easily one of the most iconic of Batman's Rogue Galleries, she's have so many looks, making cosplaying her so much fun!  As soon as I knew I was going to make this cosplay, I did a LOT of research on Dita Von Teese and referenced one of her gorgeous bejeweled corsets for this design.  It just seemed a combination that fit: both women have sex appeal for days, confidence in their bodies and can make one showstopping entrance/exit.  Plus, making a Queen of Spring version gave me so  much room creatively making this iconic and recognizable Batman villainess a bit unique.  Even if I were in a hallway full of gorgeous Poison Ivy cosplayers, I wanted to be able to have mine be easily spotted.

Weiss Costume: From the bottom down:
The shoes were bought online and I attached flowers and leaves to tie it to the bunnysuit.  I also managed to find some fishnets in more of a jeweled tone: surprisingly hard to do since I kept only finding neon colors when looking for green.  The bunnysuit was made using McCalls Patterns # M7398 ( mccallpattern.mccall.com/m7398 ).  The inside is lined with strong Duck fabric, and emerald green bridal satin make the outside.  The bunnysuit is boned with both coil spring metal boning as well as flat fell metal boning.  Once it was completed, I used E6000 to glue on the leaves and stitched on all the flowers from Hobby Lobby to ensure that they did not fall off.  For the gloves, I used McCalls Pattern # M7393 ( mccallpattern.mccall.com/sites… ).  Once I saw how simple the lines were on the gloves, I used two different fabrics to give it a bit of pop: t
he top layer is solid green spandex and the sheer layer is stretch mesh. More flowers were stitched on to tie it to the Spring theme.  This is actually my first attempt at styling a wig, and although it's simplistic, I am very proud of it!  I backcombed to give volume and styled the bangs into a fun little swoop.  Hair snaps were hot glued onto flowers, and sandwiched between ivy pieces so I can clip the accessories where ever I need them.  The crown is a Hobby Lobby Christmas ornament I spray painted green, hit with some glitter and added flowers to.  It's literally stitched to the wig so that no matter how much I move my head, it stays on.

Finishing thoughts:  I love how amazing the design came out!  I was a bit afraid that I would go Too Much and people wouldn't recognize the character.  (Although I did get mistaken for Ariel, but I'll blame the wig style over the design of the bunnysuit for that one).  This character was too much fun to cosplay and I can't wait to put this one out there and make a few heads turn.  All hail the Queen!

Haha, I see why someone thought it was Ariel. That wig is striking! But I feel like that's still a compliment, because Ariel has great hair
